"Denzel Stars In Another
Futuristic Thriller"

Well, the two-time Oscar-winner Denzel Washington has decided that he's not busy enough. This guy had added yet another project to his list of things to do. Washington is going back to the future wedding himself to starring in the futuristic drama"The Book of Eli". Its set to be released in early 2010.

The leading man will star in what is called a post-apocalyptic drama thats going to be directed by Albert and Allen Hughes. They're better known as "The Hughes Brothers".

Denzel's character will be "a lone hero in a not-too-distant apocalyptic future who must fight across America to bring society the knowledge that could be the key to its redemption." This makes Denzel sound like an intellectual Super-hero.

The plot puts Washington as a survivor who must fend off gangs and a brutal tyrant in a desolate wasteland. Which sort of sounds like the Mad Maxx character a little.

His nemesis is going to be played by Gary Oldman. He will be the movie's main villain. The official release says that he's a "despot of a small and pathetic town, who’s determined to get a hold of Eli’s book."

After human civilization and society crumbles, apparently almost all knowledge has been lost. It's Denzel's mission to restore a little of this knowledge that is contained in "The Book of Eli".

This is going to be first feature film from The Hughes Brothers since 2001. That's when they adapted the graphic novel (about the Jack The Ripper persona) "From Hell". Which I think was pretty good.

Although the critics may pan it. I will always like Denzel, Oldman, and Sci-Fi. Let's keep our eyes peeled for more tidbits.
